Restylane, Juvederm & Radiesse: Which Dermal Filler Is Right for You?

Also known as a liquid facelift, over the years, dermal fillers have earned a reputation for being the go-to treatment for those looking to obtain the benefits of a facelift, without the cost or downtime of a surgical procedure. But with all the dermal fillers on the market today, it can be hard to know which one is right for you. From understanding the areas certain fillers treat to how long the results will last, you’ll be equipped with the right information to help you and your doctor find one that’s going to give you the results you’ve been looking for. Here are the most popular dermal fillers we offer, plus details on each that can help you decide which one might be right for you.

Restylane – This dermal filler is perfect for adding natural volume that results in smoother wrinkles and less visible folds. While containing hyaluronic acid, Restylane has shown to stimulate collagen production in the skin, making it a go-to treatment for those not only looking to reduce superficial wrinkles, but wanting to add volume to the lips.

With results lasting about six months for most patients, as soon as you receive the injection, you’ll be able to see the difference. Also, like other injectables, there’s little to no downtime.

Juvederm – Much like Restylane, Juvederm contains hyaluronic acid that help create a smoother and more supple appearance. This gel implant is typically used for treating moderate wrinkles and creases in the lower facial area, plumping the lips, and firming up the area under the eyes.

As with other dermal fillers, patients will be able to see its effects immediately with most seeing results last anywhere from nine months to a year, which is a good bit longer than Restylane.

Radiesse – Best used for treating the deeper facial folds and creases, Radiesse is often the perfect solution for the nasolabial folds, or the lines that run down each side of the face from the nose to the mouth. While this injectable aids in restoring the lost volume in those hollow facial areas, it’s also often used to add volume over the cheekbones and jawline.

While patients will see results immediately upon injection, it’s also one of the longer-lasting injectable implants that tends to last a year or more. Of course, due to its longer lasting results, it’s going to cost slightly more than Juvederm and Restylane.
